Supporting Emotional Wellbeing with Thrive

At Blue Sky Independent School, we are proud to use the Thrive Approach to support children’s social and emotional wellbeing.

Thrive helps young people to better understand their feelings, build positive relationships, and develop resilience for learning and everyday life.

Some children need additional support, and our trained Thrive Practitioners offer personalised sessions on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.

These sessions are tailored to each child’s needs and help them feel safe, understood, and supported.

Thrive can be particularly helpful for children who may:

  • Find friendships or social situations difficult

  • Struggle at unstructured times such as playtimes or transitions

  • Need support settling into routines and expectations

  • Experience strong emotions such as anger, anxiety, or worry

  • Feel unsure who to talk to when emotions become overwhelming

Thrive is not only an intervention—it is part of daily life at Blue Sky Independent School.

Our team uses Thrive-informed strategies across the provision, from group activities to individual support, so that every child feels valued, secure, and ready to learn.
